And as for Apple. Well let's face it, you have an item, on which you have voided your warranty, what do you expect Apple to do. They have no legal or moral obligation to assist you. Again, they would say, well I guess you better buy a 3G model, and can I offer you Applecare with that.

Let's face it, you always knew this would be your situation once the iphone was released here.

This is all information we already know - give us something new!

Telstra will be the most expensive provider, they always have and always will. It's a shame as they're the best quality network (but not that much better to justify their much higher cost compared to the others).

Maybe Telstra will surprise us with the iPhone, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Either way, all will be revealed on the 11th of July!

Want something new?, I doubt you will get that before the 11th. The next instalment/talking point, will probably happen around the 9th, with the introduction of Mobile me, but that's simply logical deduction.

I still think that Telstra are going to happily surprise a lot of people. and win a whole wad of new customers, but the suggestion that they should give "get out of jail free" cards to those with unlocked phones is just plain silly.

I just rang telstra, and i am not convinced on their ability to inform staff...i just had a guy tell me the iphone wont be released til next year! :O

Clearly he lives under a rock!!!

Unfortuantly for me, i live in a rural area, where the blue tick matters (it does make a difference), so i have no choice. But if need be i will buy a prepaid phone and unlock it.

Telstra is on the Apple site now.

iPhone - Where to Buy - Apple

Went back to last time I posted (when it wasn't on Apple site) and hadn't been posted since, sorry if it has elsewhere.

You just wasted the cost of a call. We should be able to claim that back. You should sue them.

Do you think they are just listed on the site by the date that the arrangement was signed about the iPhone with Apple and the telco, or is Vodafone at the top because they are Apples preferred telco for the iPhone in Aus?

Well, now that we know the phones will basically available unlocked, i wonder if the apple store will have them unlocked to buy online? Would save an awful lot of hassle for a lot of people.

Vodafone should announce tomorrow to avoid to many people signing up over the weekend to Optus.
