$80 Plan with Free 8GB iPhone give $70 calls and 20MB
add
1GB of Data = $89
=$169 a month...
Three Mobile 1GB date = $30 add $69 Gives $550 calls and 300 minutes free to Three mobiles.
=$99 for HEAPS more.

If Telstra are offering it for $30/month, that means that Optus and Vodafone (who have not released there plans yet most likely due to still working on them) are going to have to beat that so i'm sure we will see better

Those hotspots are expensive... and to have free access to them is a major plus (if you spend a lot of time in starbucks/mc donalds/airports.

The $30 a month only gives $25 of calls though, it's very old school pricing.

I'll believe it when someone else here's the same thing.
I'm guessing it was just someone who didn't know what they were talking about thinking they'd be the same as normal phone plans.
Whatever is in the press release or on their website is all Telstra wants us to know.

Not necessarily better. But they certainly have their next move to make on their own. So one would think they would either match or better Telstra's ambiguous offering...

yep free wifi is the key. In fact in the cities at least you will not have to go to far (melb has Telstra CBD) before you find one. That being the case the data plan will be less important.
