Exclamation The Constantly Updated International iPhone Price Rundown

I don't know if this deserves are new topic, but given the rampant speculation over iPhone prices I figure I'd post the cheapest rate plans overseas with how much data you get and the outright prices just to give an idea of how much it would cost.

I will update this as new plans/prices are announced. I'm only including the cheapest prices because I can't be stuffed getting every price.

The prices shown are all officially announced, no rumored prices. All prices are converted to AUD as of 29/06/08. Prices do not include any tax that is not included in the advertised price.

Click the image to open in full size.

UPDATE: Replaced with Image, included Hong Kong and Australia.
UPDATE: Added Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) on Cheapest Plan to Table.
UPDATE: Added Switzerland.
UPDATE: Added US Prepaid.
UPDATE: Added Netherlands, better/worse than average indicators.
UPDATE: Added Ireland, made average of non-unlimited data plans.
UPDATE: Added Finland, included whole list of July 11 Countries (plus France)
UPDATE: Added Denmark, Updated Australia with Optus' $19 plan, but with Handset paid off up front.
UPDATE: Added New Zealand, made Australia's cheapest plan the $19 Yes plan, over 12 months, with Handset repayments group together for subsidised price.
UPDATE: Added Italy (TIM) and Portugal (Vodafone)
UPDATE: Added Mexico

I've said this in another thread, but no, they haven't. They were put on their site and taken down. That could be because they were put up early, or possibly because they were wrong. The possibility that they were wrong is why they're not in there. This list is exclusively for officially announced plans.

They're probably true, but until they announce something and not just make a mistake on their website, I'll count them as a rumour.

If those rumoured Optus prices were true, we'd be right in the middle. Those rumoured prices, despite the protests of people who think the rest of the world is entirely made up of the US and UK, were internationally competitive.

All locked. The Outright/Prepaid ones however don't include a contract so you can unlock them without being stuck on a contract. Italy is the only country to announce those prices, and both carriers have the same prices.

This is probably how it will work, but noone really knows anything at this stage, so it's possible you won't be able to unlock it from Optus/Vodafone

They'll probably unlock your phone for a price, but you'll have to put the 3 SIM in yourself (why would they?). However, if that's what you want to do you'll want to buy it on the outright/prepaid prices, because if you don't you'll still be paying for your contract for 2 years and be getting nothing for it.

You'll be able to get 3G speeds on any major network in Australia, but you'll have to ask the carrier to give you the connection details because they won't already be in the phone like on official carriers.

Umm... yeah, that's the very definition of outright/prepaid...

As for unlocking it, it's not known at this stage if the carrier will do it or if you have to wait for a jailbreak/unlocking app.

So if I was going to Italy, in say August, I could buy one outright.

Excellent...

Not quite - chances are it will still be locked to Vodafone. You will need to ask them to unlock and then pay any sort of fee that comes with that.
