My sister manages at Vodafone, so I'm confident on 2nd. The wait should kill me, preferably that than the cost ;-)

Prices announced in Italy are a steal!
I think this is not good, since all we Italians have pre-paid tariff, we would prefer a cheaper rechargeable iPhone.
We'll see!

Say I am already on an Optus plan, can you just go swap the phone with some money? I am thinking of getting an iPhone...

We don't know for sure - it's pretty much up to the discretion of Optus, if the person you're talking to was laid the night before and the alignment of the moons

Do you have anything else in the house with Optus, like Internet and Home Phone? Because we have been with optus with everything for the last couple of years and we haggled with them and got a deal where we could get four W850i's for free with 100 free text and free calls to family members, all for $28/month. We also threatened to go to Telstra
So try and do some dealing if you are an Optus customer. Tell them about Telstra's deals awsell and say that they are pretty good deals

Isn't the Rogers Canada contract 3 years? You have to factor an extra year on the contract. Most contracts are 24months.

I doubt that the telcos will do an deals in the first month or two on the iPhone, demand will be too great.
