Hmm, looks like I may have to twist the arm of a friend in Switzerland to bring one back.

Just a heads up, I might be ditching this analysis, seeing as we should expect a deluge of plans very soon, I'm going to focus my efforts on comparing the plans within out own country.

Still an Apple fan but cannot forgive them for pulling FireWire support from the MacBooks!

Was advised that the three main stores will have phone for outright purchase but can only be purchase if you are on account. The phone can then be unlocked for a fee.

It is likely that other resellers may also have the iPhone but numbers are unknown.

I would much prefer more detailed analysis of Australian plans etc.

Perhaps - an idea - shoot for the cheapest plan with data; a ~$50 (or cheapest if more expensive plan) with data; and a high end ~$90 and super high end $150 plans. Then cross compare between telcos.

Smile Nice

Awesome list. It looks like Australia is doing really well when it comes to the iPhone 3Gs pricing and plans. This article also explains the differences between some of the biggest carriers. Good read.

I mentioned that article in my first post. It gives a pretty detailed rundown, but also lists Optus as the best carrier value in the world. After Voda released their pricing plans today you probably can't go wrong with optus.
