Wink Why July 11 will be better for me.

the best part about all this for me is that i have never played, touched or even seen a iPhone in real life. I have played with a iPod Touch for about 20 seconds in a store once, but no really had a decent look into them.

Alot of forum members have imported their own handsets from States and are still all excited about an 3G iPhone, but really i think i've got it better than you. You have all been exposed to everthing the iPhone has to offer yet i've barley had a taste. If your an already iPhone owner and are getting a new one on July 11, you really don't have much to look forward to other than faster data transfer, GPS and App Store (which will be great i know, even for exsisting iPhone owners) but i think my July 11 will be so much cooler as I open the black box, the smell of fresh hardware, and set everything up they way I want. I think playing with my new phone, flicking through contacts, using multi-touch interface, pinch zooming is going to be so much fun.

I simply cannot wait!

Anyone else in my boat?

You obviously haven't been on peak hour melbourne public transport lately. It's actually difficult to avoid the iphone, I see them everywhere (yep, iphones not just touches). But I'm still looking forward to it anyway.

I am in the same position. I have never seen an iPhone and have only recently see the Touch in the Apple store. I am very very excited. I bought a new iMac on Thursday and I was so excited opening it and setting it up. I can't wait until I get an iPhone and do the same.

The reason I want one is cause it is a phone and iPod combined plus it has the internet and emails and photos etc. I have just had normal boring phones in the past so this is going to be the ULTIMATE phone for me so I am not bothered about all the bad things people have to say about it. I never use MMS anyway and so I won't miss it and I rarely take photos with the phone.

I just want to know the prices NOW!!!

I'm in the same position as dathnoth. I was close a few times to importing the old iPhone, but then I thought it would be pretty useless here, with basically no free wifi hotspots and either tiny amounts of data with Telstra EDGE, or small amounts of data elsewhere at tiny speeds.

That said, I don't think not seeing an iPhone makes you necessarily more excited about it. People that have imported could not wait, so they are no doubt just as excited as everyone else about this.

I only got mine recently and am kicking myself I didn't get one sooner. I weighed up the options and 3G would be no advantage to me as data is expensive at the best of times. I'm with Telstra so can use EDGE and honestly it is good enough. I bought mine through SmoothMobiles and couldn't be happier.
