Free upgrade from iPhone to iPhone 3G?
Hello,
In the states and the UK, Apple and/or the iPhone carriers are offering complementary upgrades to an iPhone 3G for consumers who bought the original iPhone after a certain date.
Does anyone know if Australian iPhone 3G providers or Apple Australia will offer this?
I ask because I bought a 16GB iPhone in late April (off eBay).

Apple Australia has never sold the iPhone.
eBay does not qualify.
You're not going to be bumped up to the 3G model with a complementary upgrade or fee - except for signing up as a new customer/taking out a new contract.

I very much doubt it since there was no official way to get it here. By not buying into their silly lock in games you've lost them some money. They aren't about to reward you for that. |

As Huy stated above, Apple Australia have never released the iPhone here so there is no way you will get a free upgrade from an unlocked iPhone to 3G.

Yeap you're all right, we Aussies were never privileged to have the original 1st generation iPhone down here. Those that did had to get one from the US of A and unlocked it themselves
