I'll line up once I'm told that if I line up I will actually be promised an iPhone, who has the better plan (Optus or Voda) and where exactly I can get them from (will anyone selling Voda have iPhones, or just "genuine" Vodafone stores?).

No.
I was even told a Vodafone Chastone that they might not even get it on the 11th, just Vodafone HQ who won't be able to distribute in time. This is unlikely to be true, right? |

I asked the Vodafone kiosk in Myer and they said from the communication they have had they will be selling the iPhone and that it will be available there on July 11.
