They've still got time to do that. All they'd need to do is send an email to all their pre-order customers asking which store they intend to pick up from - then they can allocate stock accordingly.

Leopard was not as highly coveted as the iPhone is. It's the new in thing in mobile communications. It was when they released the original and it is again with the faster speeds.

" my contacts said so ". But you have to also consider the size and layout of the Apple Store and the direction Apple is heading to see that they will have the iPhone.

The iPhone is a core product for Apple

I wouldn't count on these opening times as being accurate, apparently AT&T in the states was getting all ready for an 8am time until Apple announced they were selling at 6pm. Apple could still step in and set a later opening time.

Leopard is a CD... takes no time at all to manufacture and distribute. The iPhone is a complex electronic device and it's not easy to produce as many of them as CDs on launch day. Look at the Wii, that's what I'm expecting regarding stock.

If Compnow, Vodafone, Myer (who has a Vodafone section) Optus (and maybe even the Apple store) all were selling it I'm sure Center Management would be willing to, especially as they would likely be the only one in Victoria, as they'd get some great advertising.

THe suburb that my work is based in, whilst rich (Brunswick), is also very "Hippie", and the stores are rather small.

I've got a strathfield as well as an Optus Store. I'm undecided at this stage. Wife is on Voda Prepaid, so wouldn't mind a Voda Cap, however i'm with VIrgin, and I like my plan, so would be inclined to go optus.

I drive past both stores on the way to work, may just have to leave a little early on the 11th.

If anything, more!

I'm going to be fine queuing all day if I can, will just need to get someone to buy me some food and drink :P (note I didn't pay a deposit to optus, so hopefully I won't be going with them!)

I agree with the poster above.. don't see this happening due to the logistics involved with keeping the centre open.

These things have been done in the past with midnight console launches, so it's not entirely out of the ordinary, especially when the adjacent cinemas are open late.

Just go to an area where nobody will buy an iphone, because they are too expensive. Same works for new games.
