I already have a plan with optus, can I buy an outright Iphone from Optus and then stick the sim card in it??? Would that be the best way to go?

Vodafone NZ updated their website - it now says you can buy outright for NZ$1129 (=A$892). I'm not sure if it's unlocked.

Forget the Apple Store if you Want optus
Lining up they said that they had dedicated all three floors in Sydney to the iphone giving the impression that it would be in and out.

As at 9:30 guys at front of queue this morning, still waiting to be served. My guess is that they have 2-3 optus staff max on hand to process 200 people.

That's ridiculous. I didn't queue up for Apple's obligatory coffees. I queued up for an iPhone.

Well this is my story I had to go up to canberra for work this week I had to help with the Australian Defence Force Academy selection boards anyhow I viewed and viewed the forums to try and gauge the line up at the Optus World Store in the city centre. Well I couldn't so i decided to head down there and be there about 5:00 am. I made it @4:50 am and was Number 1!! It was cold the ABC Radio said 2 degrees and a wind factor of -1 degree. So I sat outside the entrance of the centre where optus was the closest (near the Carpark) at about 5:20 am the security guard took pity on me and opened the centre so I wouldn't freeze (thank you Mr security Guard) then number 2 rocked up at 5:30 and it wasn't long before a couple came along just before 6 and then the flood gates opened and it was about 15 for the 7 am opening. When I left at 715 am it was 20 people in line!!! So thats my story and I would like to say thanks to all those people who I spoke to at the store and kept me sane !!!!
