I'd call it the "Seven-Eleven" day (the way the Americans call dates)! 7-11 day - the iPhone Day!

Where do you guys suggest people without the deposit shall go in Sydney.
I think anyone who is interested in the Vodafone plans when they are released should bother lining up - ESPECIALLY if they're good plans. Vodafone have only taken pre-registrations, no deposits, so everyone is on the same level.

Me, for example, didn't put a deposit with Optus but signed up to their pre-registration page. I imagine those who bothered to put money on will get priority (as was the point :P).

So just wondering for those in Brisbane who are going to line up?

Theres a Vodafone and Optus outlet on Queen St mall next door to each other so I'm thinking about dragging the old GF to stand in one line while Im in the other if both plans are simliar!

Jeez mate, keep referring to her as the "old GF" and she might soon be the "ex GF".

It is important to know however that if the Prepaid phones are activated in store (and maybe if not also) then the phone will be in that persons name. This will make it harder to port the number to another carrier if you wish to do that, as it will require you to either change the name of the account holder, or port the number to a new carrier and then change the account holder.

Since nothing concrete has been said either way about the iPhone at the Sydney Apple Store, I think we should all wait until Monday before we start lining up.

I seriously doubt Apple would miss an opportunity like this - the Apple Store is the one place where you'd be sure to see the iPhone.

I don't know why the hell is this launch such a big problem.

Anyone who made a bloody deposit and wants to go on a plan or a damn contract should go to Optus,Telstra & Vodafone.

AND

for people who dont give a fuck about any plans and shit, they should simply pay 7 or 800 dollars and bloody buy the damn thing from the Apple store or Next Byte or something...

For the 2nd time in 2 pages... Apple will not be selling the iPhone from the Apple Store.
Think about it...
3 Carriers... a multitude of plans Apple do not want this in their store with people clogging the place for 15-20 mins per customer.

for further proof just look at the Australian website

"where you can get the iphone" - the US website says Apple Stores... the Aust website links to the 3 carriers.

I would say that is concrete!
