Are you going to line up for the iPhone?

Are you going to line up for the iPhone, at an Optus/Vodafone/Telstra/etc store?

People are doing it in America. http://forums.mactalk.com.au/47/5237...york-city.html

Post your thoughts and what time you are thinking of starting to queue.

Depends on what happens with Vodafone. Maybe. But only for a few hours, not overnight.

I surely am.

Probably Telstra at this stage.

Either 5am on the day, or very late the day before, depening on the crowd.

How long is it going to take for one person to get inside, pick the phone, organize a plan, deal, pay and then walk out? Times that by how many??

I'll doubt there will be a line up or strong demand at the Dubbo Telstra shop (That is of course if they even have it). Although I might do what I did for the Wii and drive up to Dubbo (50km), arrive at opening time, buy the iPhone and drive back home to work.

About half an hour, maybe 1. Much less for prepaid though.

However there is still the possibility Optus will let customers get as much of the process out of the way before hand.

Optus has almost done themselves a dis-service by offering the pre-registration.

If it becomes common knowledge that Optus stores will already be sold out on the 11th, wouldn't more people consider just going Telstra/Vodafone?

Interesting.

One of the policemen at the Apple Store opening seemed to think so. I posted it here but no one noticed!

Again, please add your own salt. I'm just repeating what he told me!

The fact they took deposits, and I didn't make one, is certainly making me go to Vodafone/Telstra, because I know my chances of getting stock with them are higher.
