Hey Wawa1979 maybe change your title so that it encourages MacTalkers to sign the petition, with a link to the petition. Something like "Hey MacTalkers please sign 3's iPhone petition". I figure an iPhone on 3 would benefit everyone regardless of whichever carrier their with. Just a thought.

well the sms thing doesnt work yet
The petition isnt out until tomorrow if you read the article it will be three.com.au/iphone
and the sms number 333000 with keyword iPhone doesnt work yet either

Damn, I was just about to post this story lol....... Ill be right there tomorrow filling in the petition. Good on Three for going out there and getting people power to make Apple take notice. I hope it works.

Well the petition will not go live until tomorrow. Personally I don't care if 3 gets it, cause Optus will have it in two weeks and that is good enough for me. 
It makes me wonder if maybe it was Apple who determined which carrier could have the iPhone? As 3 said "We've engaged Apple to get the 3G iPhone but at this stage we haven't been able to range it, so I don't know if we're going to be able to range it". Does that mean that Telstra will miss out too?

This is actually bad news, it means talks must have broken down and Three won't be getting it.
I'm not going to sign it, because the only reason talks would have broken down is is Three wanted to put all their shit on it, and brand the phone.

TBH i would never consider the Iphone on 3, however that said for the consumers in general it would be good if they get it.
3 have basically driven the aussie market in mobile broadband costs. This could be the reason that Apple is not letting them have it - Optus and Vodafone have put pressure on them to say keep 3 out of it as they always release cheap plans and bastardise the market.

currently only availble if you sms from your 3 phone 'iphone' to 333000. it will then send you a planet3 link to the page for your handset. the public site 'three.com.au/iphone' will launch tomorrow

im telling everyone, three iphone will save me alot of money, and three is an awesome service!
Tho i dont know why you have to be an existing customer, id imagine heaps of people would pick three over vodaphone or optus from other networks..
