Fuck a duck, if I can stay on Three and get an unmodified iPhone, then fuck yeah. I'll stick with Three!
I just been to three.com.au/iphone and it gave me a username/password prompt

Three is awesome because it's cheap on both voice and data. You know exactly what you're paying *for everything*. When you're roaming to another country with a 3 network, you don't even pay for global roaming for voice or texts.
But their customer service absolutely blows. They're lovely people at the end of the phone, but 3 make sure they have no power, so no initiative is allowed if something has gone wrong.
Terrific if you're a travller. Awful if something goes wrong.

This is not awesome...its not a pre-registration for the iPhone...its an attempt by 3 to make itself more appealing to Apple..because apparently they are not at the moment.
This does not seem positive to me...

I already told everyone not to hype up so bad and calling their indian call center expecting some operator to have 'inside information'.
I guess the more you hope
The worst it gets when you get hit by the truth.

This is very concerning and to be honest not surprising at all given Apple's history. Given how keen to get the iPhone Three comes across on that website, I'm shocked to see apple completely ignore them. Surely they want to sell more phones!
Or is it because the big boys (Vodafone/Optus) have paid up big undisclosed ransom money to keep it to themselves initially? Hmm I smell a rat here...

You are now able to leave comments, and the site blog seems to be fully functional. Time will tell if this works for 3!
I think it is a good initiative by 3 though to try and retain at least their current 3 customers that are thinking of moving to Voda/Optus, by giving some hope that the iPhone will be coming to the network sometime soon.

i guess this all depends on how many people put their name down..i'm pretty sure 3 wouldn't of done this if they didn't get hammered by people including myself emailing them.
