Iphone Strathfield COUNTDOWN!
Okay, sorry for creating another thread but I thought this was important. I went to the Strathfield.com site and there is nothing readily apparent about the iphone, so I did a search for "iphone" and it came up with "Iphone Countdown".
STRATHFIELD - Mobile Phones, Car Audio, Digital Media, MP3, Home Theatre, Memory
The page doesn't appear to be fully functional yet but there is a countdown clock with is counting down to Midnight on July 10, so by that it looks like that will be when the phone actually goes on sale.

So, all the Optus people that paid the upfront deposit to secure a 2 hour window, will line up at 10pm the 10th?
I'd say they'll be selling them from 9am on the 11th ... if Optus have a say .. or don't want a riot. |

Cant wait for the 3G iPhone to be released. I have been using some GSM phone atm because I sold my 2G iPhone. Life is different without iPhone

I don't think it means anything significant. Just a countdown to July 11th. I can't see them opening the stores at midnight and paying their staff overtime.

you never ever know. Alot of launches in the past have been at midnight. Although I have to admit that is usually the domain of Hardly Normal.

^ yeah, most notably things like Wii, Vista, etc etc. Certain retailers (not all of them ) like to captalise on the hype and open at midnight. It also will almost certainly make the news.
Now the thing that's likely to happen is some iphone/apple hater will turn up at midnight, buy one, and then smash it in front of everybody, though not as likely if you have to go on contract |
