$200 from Voitech.

Steep, but official.

Apple iphone bluetooth headset VoiTech Solutions

I would say that eBay are likely selling fakes. Check to see if they are genuine.

yeah, Motorola and BlueAnt do good ones.... even Nokia. But....the iPhone doesn't support the protocol needed to use them...AD2P (sp?).

Tried to find out which bluetooth headsets are guaranteed to work with the iPhone, but couldn't find a decent list. Previously had a SonyE set which wouldn't work reliably with the SonyE phone! So not sure if I want to get into bluetooth again. Have they improved in reliability and quality?

i hope you aren't talking about bluetooth headphones as in to listen to music because the iPhone isn't A2DP compatible

any bluetooth headset should work in theory

Yeah didn't know about the iPhone and the A2DP thing, but was referring to general headsets. As you say though, in theory should work. In my experience not so. Hence it would be nice to have an official list of headsets known to work. Probably too much to ask.

Uh...why not just wait til they're available on Apple.com.au? Shouldn't be long now.

i was previously using a nokia bluetooth unit and it worked perfectly, the unit itself had some flaws so i am reluctant to get another like it.

oh now I didn't realise there were compatbility issues
(thanks for the headsup)

agreed, an official list would be nice
but with the release of new firmware, there may be some changes that fix compatbility issues

Thanks Andrew.

Thought I'd check out the bluetooth sets sold on the US apple store, and found the jawbone here Apple Store (U.S.) - Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth Headset for iPhone. Looks like the unit to get even if it is somewhat pricey.

Will chase up some reviews of it. It's not listed on the Oz Apple store, so not sure if it's sold here or will have to import. Anyone got any experience using this?

No bluetooth sets listed on Oz Apple store yet, though when iPhone is released here next month that will probably change. Quite a few listed on the US store.
