Online Aussie store offers unlocked 3G iPhones for $775-$875

Quote:
An Australian web store is taking pre-orders for iPhone 3G for $775 and $875 depending on the model. Is this offer on the level? Has the store spilled the beans on iPhone 3G pricing?
Not sure what to make of this yet.

From here - iTWire - Online Aussie store offers unlocked 3G iPhones for $775-$875

Melbourne-based Linelink Data Communications has begun listing the iPhone 3G and is taking pre-orders ahead of the July 11 release.

I'm betting wishful thinking, though it would be nice if true. But the fact I've never heard of this mob doesn't really engender confidence, hopefully they're on the level and people won't end up getting ripped off.

The fact that they have the original gsm 16gb model listed unlocked makes it fairly obvious that they aren't exactly an official operation.

agreed, wont be doing any dances until everything is confirmed in writing in triplicate, sent in, sent back, queried, lost, found, subjected to the public inquiry, lost again, and finally buried in soft peat for three months and recycled as firelighters.

I love the smell of Douglas Adams (first Mac owner outside of the US) in the morning!

I'd love this to happen - would be a big boost for those looking for a fully unlocked option.
