I've never purchased one so I wouldn't know.

They may well do that (if that is how they do things).

ah. yeah i know what you mean now....

a printed crappy optus box to hide the gorgeous well designed apple box....

unless its just a cardboard "sleeve" that covers half the box and then covered in shrinkwrap.... i think that would be the most feasible way to do it.
who knows.

ive unboxed one too

My sister recieved an Optus pre-paid RAZR V3 for Christmas, besides the cardboard bit Optus used, the rest was like a normal retail box.

More of my deep thinking here, maybe not pricing then but what about announcing Telstra, they could have a Telstra big wig (sol?) there for the press event.

This would actually make sense as Telstra if they were to have the iPhone likely wouldn't have wanted to be lumped with the other 2 given their network advantage for the iPhone. A announcement at the opening would give Telstra a chance to talk up the network, particularly in the bush.

^^ i thought telstra was hating on apple when they first released the iPhone. i would love it if apple denied them the opportunity to sell it.

"stick to their sticking" indeed
