Optus iPhone Web Registrations Terms and Conditions
By registering your interest:

You are not obligated to purchase an Optus iPhone
You agree to be contacted by Optus regarding Optus iPhone
You are not guaranteed a handset
For customers who choose to make an Optus iPhone holding deposit-

The deposit entitles you to priority queuing at participating Optus World and Yes stores on the day of product availability. To be eligible for the priority queue, you will need to pay the relevant deposit and present at a participating store, your printed receipt and credit or debit card used to pay your deposit. A list of participating stores will be available 1 week prior to launch date. Existing Optus customers need to leave a $50 holding deposit
Non-Optus customers need to leave a $100 holding deposit
Registering for priority queuing and payment of a deposit does not guarantee that an Optus iPhone handset will be available.
This offer can only be redeemed at participating Optus World stores.
The holding deposit is fully refundable and a refund will be provided to the same credit or debit card used to pay the holding deposit within 5 days after the Optus iPhone becomes available.
Optus will keep you informed of the Optus iPhone launch date via email and will provide further details on this website.

Well a reasonable person may conclude that Optus have put themselves in a corner by taking deposits.

As they now(accroding to the above conditions posted by dotCommrade) need to give people the opportunity to secure their iPhone, and who si going to do that without pricing??
