Still loving iphone with three
I'm currently on the 200MB X series and I reckon this will be enough to last the month- it only costs $12 a month too. If I run out I'll just dip into the 100mb from the optus plan. I mostly use it with wifi
Anyone else hardly using any data with three-that really surprises me. With optus I seemed to use more even though it was slower.
Iv'e also noticed I can get a Three signal in more places than my 6280 (I did a back to back test and the iphone definetly stays longer with the three signal)

I talked to someone at the 3 store this weekend (and we all know how reliable they are >.> ) and he swore up and down that he had been told by their regional manager that Three will be getting the Iphone by Christmas. He said that it would be sooner but Apple are having some stock issues at the moment.
Don't know how much of that to believe though

yeah i was told on july 11th they were going it very soon, without an official press release i no longer believe anything they say. so definitely take it with a grain of salt.
its frustrating as i was eligible for an upgrade months ago, and my contract expires in dec. have been waiting for them to release it before i go out and get it on another carrier, but now i'm thinking i'm just gonna get a $19 plan from optus.
my luck they announce it a week after i sign the optus contract.

Look here How To - iPhone on Three - Configuring 3
Configuring:
After receiving your unlock from your carrier in iTunes:
1. Insert your 3 SIM and restore the iPhone in iTunes if your phone still can't make calls
2. Put the APN in: 3services (Settings -> General -> Cellular Network Data) - no username or password
3. Set the voicemail button to work: *5005*86*333# then press call
4. Bookmark your Three Call and Usage Tracker in Safari
http://three.net.au/hss/getmyaccount.do
5. If you need one, add smtp.three.net.au as an additional outgoing mail server. It is 20c per message on some plans, so you may prefer to use another.
6. If you want a "visual voicemail" style thing: Set up your Three voicemail in mail (link).
You're done

3services should work. Make sure you have wifi off. You can't access Planet 3 or My 3 services over wifi.
That's not a My3 app on the home screen. It's a web shortcut. Find the webpage in Safari and push the + symbol and add to home screen.

Go to the Three website and sign into My3. Pick a data pack and add it to your account.
I don't know how Three would charge you for 'casual' use without a X-Series pack thing. The only pricing I know of is the $1.65/mb if you're using data while roaming on Telstra's EDGE network. For the specifics you're after, call Three or visit the website. That'll be your best bet for the information you're looking for.

as far as i understand, you can still configure your @three.com.au email account and it will still be unlimited under one of the x series plans. send and receive as much as you want. attachments under this email account dont use any of your data allowance. send and receive with as much attachments as you like. (but note, this email account only works on 3G and not over wifi)
any gmail or pop email account will use the data allowance.
anyone feel free to correct any inaccuracies.

Three's email servers don't require SSL.

Think i'm about to go the same route.. the optus network is horrible.
Thinking some form of post-paid plan so i can change
$20 for a gig of data is more then enough, then just gotta add a calls on
