Vodafone - Skip the queue

G'day MTAU.

Apologies if this has already been posted... I searched and haven't seen it anywhere else here.

Vodafone has a webpage branded under "vodafone.com.au/iPhone" (which doesn't exist) but clicking on the url link (/iphone) brings up this interesting page.

Gee, I dunno... but it looks like the object hidden from view there looks kinda like an iPhone... heh.

So, the question remains... are you interested in 3G mobile & Smart-phone launches, New voice plans or New data plans?

I was directed there on Friday when I rang VF to enquire about the iPhone.

Well if they are planning in new data plans then I may just stay with Vodafone when the iPhone comes out, will certainly be easier for me. I haven't had any problems with 3G coverage (I chose to go UMTS only on my phone to see if I ever list coverage and I didn't).

By the sounds of it (the wording of the webpage) it seems pretty clear on what they intend to do

yeah I saw this today - I'm after an outright purchase to use for work on Telstra NextG, so I'm signing up for these so I can compare straight away what the outright price will be between those that get to sell it.

I'm assuming that a phone retailer will have more chance of doing me a good price than Apple Retail or on-line. Time will tell..

I don't know Spargo. I think that the first few shipments will sell out, so unless you want to wait and miss the flood by the early adopters, there will be little chance of doing a deal. By the way, love the avatar "It was the freshest move I have ever seen"

@spargo: I don't think "deals" will be done on outright iPhone purchases for quite a while! It'll be more a case of "hand over your money, dude, or let the next guy in line through".

fair comments by all @me.. if all else fails, I'll buy one in the UK or Europe when I'm away in August.

I'm only talking about any chance to try and save a few bucks by playing off a pair of suppliers - we'll all be paying not far off the ticket price for a while I'm sure.

I have signed up to see what info and deals they have out of interest as I would switch if things work out better.
