Optus/Singtel to distribute iPhone in Australia & Other SE Asia Countries

dudes..

just letting you all know, optus will be supplying the iphone.

i work for optus and our CEO has just sent an email around confirming

"Optus today announces that we have signed a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Australia!

Our Group colleagues in SingTel, Bharti Airtel and Globe are also announcing they will bring iPhone to Singapore, India, and the Philippines later this year.

Further details will be announced at a later date.

"

sorry if old news, just thought i would pass on the official nature.

cheers

Should be merged into the mega iphone Australia thread. Too bad SingTel hasn't extended the same agreement to its partners in Indonesia (apparently all three of the largest networks here).

I hope that you don't get into trouble for posting this.

Before I moved out here my employer announced we'd be upgrading customers internet speeds to 20mb - this was done internally like your CEO email. It was still not for the public, Someone posted it on a webforum, company tracked him down and had him sacked.

Other than that - great news!

With the exception that it was an internal email saying not for public release :P

But yes, about as vauge as voda was. Joy. Let's see how much 'later' it is with the current worldwide 2.5G shortage of iPhones
