Mactalk crashes Safari on iPhone
Does anyone have an issue of Mactalk crashing Safari on the iPhone when they try to log in. I have found that if I go to MacTalk Australia and use the sidebar to login, then Safari crashes.
I have found I need to log in the following way.
1) Click on forums option in the side bar,
2) Click on a forum that I am interested in,
3) Go to a thread I want to post in and click on it
4) Try to add reply to the "locked" forum. Mactalk then states that I need to be logged in to do this
5) Enter username and password that Mactalk gives me to login
6) Safari doesn't crash and I am then logged in.
Is there something about the login options in the sidebar that is different to logging in the way I have described above?

I can login fine on my iPhone without any safari crashes.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I have no trouble on my iPod Touch (still iPhone deprived). Having said this, Safari does randomly crashes on me if I'm playing music on my iPod at the time.

Would just like to add that I haven't done anything special to my iPhone other than unlock with Pwnage 1.0 and install BSD Subsystem, OpenSSH and Aus localisations.
Would opening the developer menu and listing any errors that I receive on the Mactalk homepage help?
EDIT: I looked at the debug menu and a get about 20 errors on the Mactalk homepage but I can't see anything that would cause Safari to crash as they are just a number of HTML errors.
I have noticed that when I click on the username panel in the sidebar the cursor jumps down to the password box. I then need to click on previous on the iPhone to jump back up to the username box and type in my name. Weird.

Works fine on my iPhone too - anyone else having this issue, if it's wide-spread, I want to fix it, but if it's only happening to leon here, I don't know what to do, hah

What firmware are you on? With the latest updates to the phone Im pretty sure they have fixed that issue.

MTAU doesn't give me any issues, but the Age site crashes Safari every time - I'm assuming it just runs out of memory. I'm on 1.1.4.

To try and get around the issue I have installed terminal onto the iPhone and followed the post that SilverJ made about getting it to remember cookies. Not sure if it worked or not as terminal just fed me a bunch of text and stated that "Operation could not be permitted" for most of them.
Hopefully Firmware 2.0 fixes this issue for me. It looks like no one else is having any issues so it must just be related to my phone. Can't be bothered restoring it again so I will just wait this one out. Thanks for the help.

I've only ever crashed Safari with Mactalk by setting it to 100 posts per page, then trying to scroll to the end. That generally crashes me back out to the home screen. I resolved this by going back to the forum default, and haven't had a fault since.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I have narrowed down the crash to a specific event. It only crashes when I zoom into the login part of the sidebar. If I don't zoom and try to hit the login bar I can lgin just fine, no crashing. Its annoying trying to hit it with accuracy, but it sure beats safari crashing. I don't know to access any crash logs to possibly see what is causing it.

Nothing we can do then. Seems your phone's software is borked in some way or another.
However, I've found a quite good iPhone skin, which I'm customising for MacTalk at the moment.

Nice work, an iPhone version of MacTalk would be great,
especially when 3G iPhone comes out.
Fast MacTalk on the go
