or is that wishful thinking?
I've used the mapping function step by steps for directions and pre-zoomed in on trickier points - my GPRS / Edge is turned off on the phone - yet the direction steps have worked perfectly. Just remember to run them. Then leave maps > turn off wifi and check it.

Inlocking with Ziphone

Thank you so much for the detailed instructions. My 8gb iPhone is currently in the post from my nephew who is on holidays in the US so your help will be invaluable. Keep up the good work. Cheers

Based on iPlus, it's supposedly fully reversible by using the 3.9FB bootloader rather than the official 3.9 bootloader. Also, it can handle customised payloads and has a range of payloads available to fix problems that may be cause by ZiPhone.

Haven't had an opportunity to try it out though.

Do you have a step by step guide to change the iPhone US number format to display the Australian number format? Cheers

1. What can I do and what can't I do with an iPhone here in Australia? Am I getting a half-arsed barely usable device or what?
2. Can my current mobile phone number & SIM from a current phone work in an iPhone?
3. What is data speed like on the iPhone? What is GRPS & EDGE? How much will it set me back?
4. Which mobile plans are good for iPhone?
5. I want one - how do I smuggle one into the country?
6. Guide me through the process of getting the damn thing working here in Australia.

I am not aware of any local based stores selling iPhone accessories or covers.

Expansys have a local arm selling a pretty expansive range of iPhone accessories. Just search for iPhone on their home page.

I bought a Griffin cover from them. Arrived in 2 days. I think it's even possible to pick up from their site in Collingwood.

Nice - I'll add em to the FAQ. I've bought stuff from Expansys before, I don't know why I forgot about them
