Ah, yes. Fair question. Now the problem there is that I'm a good writer, but I'm no computer expert, and I haven't done my phone yet. I only write a babysteps guide when I'm actually doing my own phone, because then I know not to publish it if my phone is stuffed at the end!

That said, this guide at iClarified looks pretty simple to follow, so I might give mine a go before long. I'll write it up as I do, and if I think it makes anything clearer than the iClarified one, then I'll publish it here.

When we upgraded from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 - W9cae released a babysteps instructions.

THis insructions are fine - but waht about AnySim - which version do you use ? etc. etc.

How about some total instructions to get a 1.1.2 phone to 1.1.3 to work on Aussie Networks... and I mean everything...

I don't think you need to unlock, if it has already been jailbroken. It's a soft upgrade that doesn't do the baseband.

You can even do the entire thing via Installer, from that guide.

Jailbreak means you can install apps - third party ones - to unlock using AnySIM you need to use that application.

Does the 1.21u version work in 1.1.3 - I think the answer is no.

Okay, I upgraded tonight and now have an unlocked 1.1.3 iPhone. I've written it up as a babysteps guide and posted it to the MacTalk iPhone Guides forum. It won't appear there until it has been approved by a moderator. The process described is exactly the same as the one in the iClarified tute, but if you find scrolling through the endless screenshots there unhelpful, then the babysteps guide might suit you better.

I probably don't know enough to help anyone who gets into trouble with this, so follow it at your own risk.
