Fat chance they won't. Its like games for iPod. This is why I am worried about the SDK - I don't wanna see all this great focus on free apps shift to paid apps through iTunes which require a legit iPhone...and don't say I should have waited for a legit iPhone because I can't afford to be locked into such an expensive plan for so long...
Whatever happens, for the most part I would be more than happy with what I have now but knowing there are features out there that you can't have always sucks...

A very good dictionary, like weDict! Having that much choice and that many dictionaries...*sigh* it made me so happy to be right there in my pocket!

That'd be a killer app. I'm surprised Apple haven't released it as a 'web app' already.
I'd like to see a better mail client... and that's about it. I reckon the iPhone is perfect.

I'm hoping an iPod Touch will replace my trusty T5 Palm in the near future. If that happens I'd miss the following apps and would love to see similar replacements on the Touch:
AFL Ladder
RPN Calculator
A converter for all the units I use (and lots I will never use)
A simple flatfile database
An eReader or equivalent for eBooks
Some GPS utilities
Moonphase
A Sudoku game (not too easy or too hard)
A world clock program for keeping track of at least three time zones at once
Are any of these currently covered?
Cheers
Steve

No. It is working for me. However, an update or weDict that came out during the 1.1.2 period had a change that tripped a few of us up, so if you haven't caught up with that, it may be your problem. In the older version, the individual dictionaries were all, by default "on" unless you turned them off. Now it is the other way around, even if you only have one. You have to tap on the "i" button (which is quite hard to do in weDict) until the page flips over, and then turn on your individual dictionaries. Until you do that, it will tell you that it can't find anything.

Flash support, flash support, flash support. A PDF viewer would also be nice.

Network testing is the excuse for those sort of apps

What apps do you want on your iPod Touch/iPhone??
Well, the SDK is coming soon (hopefully), and I was just wondering, What do you want to be made for use on the iPhone/iPod Touch?
I'm suggesting (for about the 1234567890th time) PhotoShop(mini)
I also think something like "Keynote" would be cool... and even as far as maybe an iChat...
Just throw your suggestions into here, and make sure you tell us if you intend to build the application(s)...
