iPhone messenger?
Hi everyone,
Can someone tell me if you can get an msn type app on your iPhone and what are the best options? It would be great when the iPhone comes out (or for those lucky people who have them already) to use a messenger program on the train like people do with their hiptops on Telstra. I like the idea of having msn when I am on the go.
Cheers.

Wow that looks perfect! Doubt you could do much more with messenger on the iPhone except for one thing... Display pictures would be nice.
Thanks!

There's no Yahoo IM solution on iPhone yet, alas. Mac users seem fine with AIM, but I find in my business Yahoo and Skype are by far the most common.

Yes, I'd definitely be excited for Skype on it.
Think of the cheap calls using a hotspot with WiFi :-D

Works fine for me for a bit,
Then it says "failed to send message blah blah blah"
Then you have to close the entire app and load it again to use it, if you try to just log out and log back in it hangs on the login.
Thankfully I don't need to use it much anymore.

Apollo is a PITA for me. It works ok - dont get me wrong, but theres this god awful bug where if you enter text and it has to wrap to multple lines the text entry box doesn't expand and the text just gets entered over the top of whatever's below. UGLY

I find all of them a PITA from time to time. I have Mobile Chat installed, but have removed Apollo as its not being developed anymore anyway. I like Beejive best but as with any web app, loses connection from time to time. Meebo is a tad more reliable than beejive.
Havent ever tried ebuddy, gonna take a peek today.
(edit: ebuddy mobile is obviously designed for a small screen. not good on the iphone at all. Cant seem to get to the web based messenger which might be better)

I wish there was an iChat client for the iPhone that would work with iChat's protocols and also would save its chat files in a way that could be synced with the real iChat's saved chats.
Then again I wish I had an iPhone so you're ahead of me on that one :P

Mobile Chat for me. No issues with it. Don't use it that often though.
