Worked for me 2 mins ago

Hopefully it has been done in a way that the iPhone mimic a SE close enough that Sony can't tell the difference and block us out without shutting down the whole service to legit users

My Google-fu is obviously pretty poor (or maybe it's because I'm tired due to being up too late), but could someone please point me in the direction of the equivalent SE app. Ta.

Works for me. Great App!

Edit .... Or it did work. Not working for me anymore. Getting "Connection Failed" all the time now. Well it was great while it lasted.

The fun is over now
I just tried it and there was a message saying that it's only available to Sony ericsson phones. In other words, we're locked out. Shame.

I got that too - funny thing is it also said, "We enjoy it too " Like they didn't mind so much we'd been leeching.. lol

Apparently it uses the GraceNote database, and those with connection problems should read this:

That should answer your questions and whining...

pretty sure this what fcuked my iPhone last night for a few hours.

I installed the app bout 3-4 days ago, after reading this post.
since then my iPhone had a couple of freezes, hard reset (hold power button) and she was good to go again.
This was until last night, was on the phone to a mate, went to hang up and it froze on the incall screen, i had ended the call but the screen was frozen.
All i could do is turn the phone on and off, use the slide to unlock and control iPod (as ive set home button double tap to iPod).
Once i turned the screen on and off it came back to the unlock screen, when i unlocked the phone with the slider it went to the contact screen but i couldnt click on anything???
So i had my mate call me and it rang and i could answer but after the call the same frozen iPhone.

This went on last night for over 5 hours.
I ended up running the iPod to kill the battery and then when recharged it the iPhone was fine again.

i have since deleted 'Listen' and no more dramas.

might be something to note for people looking at installing this beta app.

Sad news....looks like Listen is dead

Quote:
After talking to Gracenote, I have discovered several things. First, that their Track ID service is not available for noncommercial licensing. Second, that the costs for commercial licensing is beyond the amount to which I can possibly be committed to.

If you don’t mind spending $1 a shot, you can use your iPhone for music ID. Dial #43 (that is #ID). You won’t be charged for songs that the service fails to identify.
http://ericasadun.com/?p=143

Let's just hope that development of the app continues using an open source database...

It is very sad to see it go

There must have been a huge increase of traffic to the server for this to be noticed and then banned. Goes to show you how many hacked iphones are in use!
