Ouch. I ended up buying a jvc kd-pdr35 from jb's today which is iPod compatible, ie has the dock connector. I askedthe sales nublet if it was iPod touch compatible and he said yes so if he turns out wrong he'll just have to refund me

Are you sure?

Mine works with the factory kit on a current model VW Passat... as far as I know the head units on the VW Golf / Jetta / Passat are essentially identical.

What does it do when you connect??
