hey guys i was wondering how it was possible apart from purchasing from itunes, to transfer video to the iphone? eg is there any converter to possibly rip video from say a dvd that you own, transfer it to your mac then through itunes to your iphone?

Try the iPod setting in Handbrake.

VisualHub/iSquint will do it too.

highly recommend VisualHub but every other suggestion will do the job just fine

hmm i tried isquint and basicaly it doesnt recognise the formats. the dvd im trying to copy or convert whatever you call it is Star wars revenge of the sith and i tried season 7 disc one of seinfeld but both come up with format not read or whatever? is that due to the size of the discs, or the formats, both are VOB or BUB?

Are those dvd's copy protected?

If not you need to (for handbrake) point handbrake to the video_ts folder on the dvd and handbrake will do the rest.

im not sure to be honest its the actual dvds so they are not burnt copies or anything. i just tried with handbrake and its so far converting i will see if it works or not

If they're original's you will need Mac The Ripper first to strip the DRM - assuming they're your own dvd's of course

Not sure what handbrake will come back with - I'm intrigued cos I would have thought those dvd's were DRM'd.
