Checklist for unlocked iphones from ebay

Hi all the iphone owners,

is there any functionality that might be not functional after improper unlocking process? the ebay buyer seems so dodgy about the shipping time and i'm wonder if he would send me a bricked iphone.

1. YouTube apps

Thanks

I'm not sure what the question is...

Everything works except visual voicemail.

Why don't you just buy a locked phone and do it yourself? it's not exactly hard and there are monkey see monkey do instructions all over the net on unlock processes.

I agree. I recommend you buy it unopened, sealed. That way you get the pleasure of unboxing it for the first time and being able to do it the way you want to do it

If something doesn't work, you can always fix it.

Just remember, if you are buying an unopened, locked phone, you'll want to make sure that the build date is sufficiently old that you can still unlock the phone using the existing tools. From memory I belive recent phones have been modified such that the firmware of the phone module is not unlockable using the existing unlock methods.

I'm sure a search of this forum will reveal more specific information as to the date range (visible in the serial number) suitable for unlocking.
