1.0.2 And Upgrading

Hey All,

I have been away from these forums for sometime - so am needing to catch up on a few things.

I am still running 1.0.2 but am wanting to upgrade - is it recommended, what's the best guide etc etc or should i wait then go from 1.0.2 to 1.1.2?

Also I bought my iPhone pre-unlocked on eBay so I don't know what method was used to unlock it - is there anyway to find this info out....does it matter?

Cheers for any comments/suggestions

I reckon you should leave it on 1.0.2

This means that staying on 1.0.2 is the best idea for the time being, if you ask me.

You can find out how the phone was unlocked. First, contact the seller. If they're not very forthcoming, you'll need to extract the secpack from your baseband firmware (using the NOR dumper tool) and examine that to determine which is the best course of action.

I concur with Huy. There really aren't any "must-have" features in the update, and you *know* that the next update will muck things up again. On top of that, you don't know what way it was unlocked, so bricking could be a possibility if you upgrade.

I will upgrade when they fix the SMS voicemail notification and add more features to SMS, eg multiple receivers.

I agree - I am 1.1.1 and whilst I really want the Voicemail fix - I can live with waiting for a simple method of upgrade.

Someone mentioned it might be mid december hopefully.
