How to disable Edge on iPhone?
Hey Guys,
I am going overseas tomorrow and i dont want to rake up a huge data usage bill while being there. How can i disable edge and only connect to the net via wi-fi on the iPhone??

Which firmware?

You should just be able to enter incorrect information in the Edge configuration fields (don't leave them blank) and you shouldn't have any trouble.

Or install Services.app from Installer and set Edge to Off.

Strangely, my iPhone on 1.1.2 is reporting 4.0kb sent, 18.0kb received over Edge/GPRS, despite never having the correct apn etc. entered. I'm going to keep an eye on it.

Reset EDGE counter and enter garbage text, Edge?
Then keep an eye on the counter/usage after that.

All Services.app does when you disable EDGE is put "disabled" as the APN. When you turn it back on, it puts it back to whatever you had in there before.

Yep that's correct. So what I did, was removed Services.app and just kept it as what I had in there before - random text.

No need for Services IMO.
