Can someone in Melbourne do the formatting for me?

Guys,

i'm seriously not confident about doing the formatting myself and wonder whether you would know of anyone in the Melbourne area that can do the number formatting for me?

Cheers

iPhone number formatting, I'm guessing. If you've hacked your iPhone, altering the number formatting is child's play.

edit: with the latest firmware = 1.1.1? Have you activated/unlocked it?

I bought it activated/unlocked. I have a MacBook and when the iphone is connected, there is no icon on the desktop. I'm really not technically minded and the chances of me cocking it up are extremely high!

thanks for the help. Will give it a shot - what are the chances of me blocking the phone completely and it forever to be unuseable? Is there an iphone guru I can send it too should I kill the thing?

Much appreciated!

Hacking your iPhone in any way requires a fair tolerance for the risk of bricking your phone. I hacked mine (1.0.2) but I basically refuse to mess with it now - I've grown very attached to it and I'm not taking any chances

As for sending it off to get fixed - you might find someone who's willing to assist, but there's no certainty.

I'm in the same boat, but don't get/can't follow the instrictions, although they seem pretty easy.
like when they say type in http://iphone.unlock.no/#number-formating - is that on the phone or on the computer?
if on the phone where?
a little confused here

I would say you need to direct your iphone to that website with safari on the iphone?

yep, that's what I figured, but what happens is that it provides advice as to how to do it, but doesn't actually say "where" it's done - there's a kind of assumption that the "starting point" is known.
I've fluffed around on both my Mac and on the phone but can't work out what to doto trigger the inputs required!
It may all just be a consequence of an unlocked phone - "bits" not the same for everyone???

for a easy option with number formatting problem,
just goto the unlocking tools category in installer, and install enable international menu, then goto settings>general>international and you will find region format, change it to Australia and it should work.
This works for me, but apparently is buggy and doesnt work for everyone
