Icons Missing

Hi Everyone,

I am writing this for a friend of mine.

He has installed so many applications on his phone - that he cant now see install.app and cant uninstall or remove apps.

Any suggestions? Ideally he doesnt want to have to rebuild his phone.

He was a Windows PC - not a MAC - although he could get one if he needs.

Please help..

Thanks

Tony

SFTP into the phone using your phone's ip over wifi.

Navigate to /Applications/

Delete what you don't need.

Any particular program to use - remember he has a PC not a MAC.

Thanks

I dunno. I used Transmit on mac, which is a great ftp client. Use a decent FTP client on windows I guess.

Tell him to download WinSCP. That will allow him to log onto the phone and delete the excess applications.

He must have installed a fair few applications! Does Summerboard have a scrolling limit?

cplicious

Problem is that he hasnt actually installed Summerboard - and now he loaded so many apps - he cant actually see the installer.app anymore to delete them

I think the method of using the ssh and linking via the network will be best - but i am still not sure if he can see the services icon to make sure ssh is online. Also - not sure what the default password for root is ...

Anyone know?

Default pass for root is dottie. Its recommended to change that as soon as possible, I did it thru independence.

Tony, does your friend have a 1.1.1 phone? if so he can just flick sidewise to the next screen.
