Sorry for creating another newb thread guys, ive searched and thought i had it kinda worked out...


My iphone arrived today
its brand new from apple.com and im at the activation screen...

Ive read about the new way of jailbreaking by going to that website over wifi, but to goto the website my phone needs to be fully activated and what not before i jail break it..


whats the easiest way to go about this?

Sorry once again, any help appreciated.


p.s i was going to use independance but i am not sure if thats the current best way to go about it.

The jailbreak method you're talking about doesn't require previous activation. You trick the phone into letting you into the address book via the emergency call.

Good to hear you've got it working though. It can be quite tricky to get these things set up.

so ive get everything going on 1.1.1 via independance

Whats the easiest way to go about installing anysim? can i download the app straight onto my phone via WiFi?

Use Independence. There is a customise menu.
Download to your computer. Transfer via Independence.

i used independance on a mac and it wasVERY easy to do.

i am finding it all pretty easy, just learning myself really.. im trying to download "Safari PXL Installer" Via Installer app but cant locate it.. once i find it (if i can) i can install anysim through wifi, then my phone is 100% ready to run.

Okay.. i have used ibrickr to install AnySim as i could not get Rogue to work in installer.app

So i have a Virgin Sim inserted.. but it doesnt seem to be working..
i get the message

"Incorrect SIM this iphone must be used with an approved sim"

Anyideas what ive done incorrect?

I think i know what ive done wrong, i have run AnySim with the ATT sim inside the phone..

Does this mean i have to Virginise my phone, and start it all again?

Did you use independence? If so connect your phone and open indenpendence. At the bottom of the window it should show you if your phone is activated and jailbroken. If so you should be able to upload anysim using the customise tab in independence.

It's as simple as clicking add and seraching for anysim1.1 on you HD. It will then load it onto you phone and you can run anysim from there. Make sure you put your new sim in not the ATT sim.

You won;t have to virginise your phone as you haven't unlocked it. You only need to virginise your phone if you unlocked it on 1.0.2 using the older version of anysim.

hope this helps, let me know if it doens't and i can talk you through the unlocking. I did it on mine without any probs..

i think ive accidently installed the wrong version of anysim (1.0.2)

So does this mean i have to virginise my phone and start all over again? but install the newest anysim and it should be fine?
the phone is completley unlocked and jailbroken and everything

If your SIM is working, then it's working...

If your SIM is not working, then you haven't unlocked it, so it isn't completely unlocked but may be jailbroken/activated.

Hacve you unlocked your phone and made calls? Or have you only activiated your phone?

SIM isnt working but thats because im using the older anysim, ive read that its not good to use the old anysim on a new 1.1.1 phone

do i just delete anysim 1.0.2 and install the newest anysim? or do i have to start over again?

no i had everything installed and running and then i tried to fix the sim lock with anysim but installed the incorrect version..


just wanting to work out the best way to go about fixing it..
