I did a search in the forum and I don't think anyone's mentioned this yet. For those interested in being able to access international settings (eg Keyboard, date time etc), there is a guide I've used which enables this.

If done properly (not that it's terribly hard), you'll be able to access Settings>General>International on your 1.1.1 iPhone.

I have tried it on my 1.1.1 and can confirm that it works. This is pretty useful to me as I like the idea of being able to type Japanese.
