Hahaha. Thanks. I'm still not mentioning it... just in case.

Help. I am now able to load the youtube page by replacing the three files in /var/root/library/lockdown. However, when I click the actual video, I got the following error message "Error playing movie".

I used safari to login into youtube website, but I cannot play video and Safari says "you either have javascript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player". Do I need to change some configuration and update the software? Many thanks!

I'm still finding isim infinitely frustrating where accessing the net is concerned, I've sent them more emails and hope to get as good a response as laughingbird did, but don't expect to. It seems to depend on which CSR you get.

I'm contemplating a switch back to virgin on their lowest cap plan and take the $10/month data plan instead of staying with isim. Perhaps I have outgrown them.

Optus EDGE or GPRS?

Thanks to asphotos, I got GPRS to work on my iPhone using a normal Optus SIM.

My question:
The EDGE logo (E in a box) appears at the top of the iPhone. I thought Optus didn't have an EDGE network? If it is GPRS, the logo at the top of the iPhone should be a solid block.

Only if you have upgraded to FW 1.1.2. On the previous systems there was no distinction and it just showed the "E" for GPRS as well. They have changed it in the new software for the UK release, because the O2 network in the UK has EDGE in the cities but only GPRS in some rural areas.

Cheers,

Nathan
