I have never been with them, but I know many who have and they have never been happy with them. But that is not to say that everyone has had a bad experience with them. I have heard that the coverage is not the best even since they are using some of Telstras infrastructure.

I've had no dramas with 3, and been with'em for almost 3 years now. prior to using telstra's infrastructure (which I might add is only activated when in the GSM areas), they used vodafone's.

I could see Three getting the iphone still, purely for the fact that they're the first in australia to provide/roll out the 3G network, and shit, they're using macs in their hsdpa usb modem ads everywhere.

I'm currently with Three.

My handset was stolen, and I didn't have the $ to pony up a new one.

After an hour and a half on the phone, arguing to de-activate the subscriptions I had (my movies, ebay) I gave up.

To be honest, I have never had to go through customer service like that before, or since. After saying I wanted to cancel my contract, I was handed to four different reps when the one before failed to convince me to stay with them. On the last one I started with "I want to cancel my contract, No, I do not want to look at a replacement hand set at a generous 50% off, no, I don't want to discuss alternatives, I don't want a few days to think about it, and if you transfer me to a fifth rep, I'll put a stop on my Direct Banking transfers, and we can take it up the line.

I resent being fucked around. I will be as courteous and accommodating as possible, I work retail and I understand what's what. But you don't transfer someone 4 times because you you're trying to retain a customer. Unreal.

its not necessarily that. There just seems to be very little reason for apple to go with them over bigger guys like telstra, optus or vodafone
