That means nothing especially after Telstra's spokesman last year practically spit on the iPhone and told Apple to stick to what they're good at (making computers and iPods).

That's what I was thinking. I suspect Steve Jobs will allow all the other telcos to get it first and make Telstra wait a while. After another spokesman retracts the comments then they'll get it.
Another factor in this is that a lot of telcos operate in multiple countries which gives them far greater worldwide coverage than Telstra. All of this could also be Apple marketing at its finest - building a demand before it (officially) ships so that Telstra have to accept Apple's terms or remain conspicuously absent. The iPhone being available on competing networks will cause a lot of people to switch. And as switchers to the Mac are discovering once you do it you wonder why you ever bothered to stick with the old company for so long.

As if.
Steve did not get to where he did by holding little grudges against everyone who says anything slightly insulting about apple products. Business is business and I doubt the comment even barely registered on the radar.

Apple have changed manufacturers of Mac video cards and the iPod simply because Steve didn't like what they said - and they said nice things!

And I very highly doubt Steve has ANYTHING to do with any of the deals being made, except maybe the original AT&T one.

So it looks as if there will be no 2G iPhone at all.
MacRumors is reporting that there are no iPhones in the UK anymore.

Hey all.
I don't know if this has been posted before but I just got my brochure from DSE Power House and I saw the following in it:
Ah. Looks like Anthony's sources are turning out to be correct. But selling the cases before the actual official phone comes out? What if the shape and size is different to the 3G one and they won't bring the 2.5G here?
Ah well, One month left... Who knows, maybe even less. *^Look at post above.*

I'm almost at the point where I've waited so long, I don't care anymore. I will still get one, and change ASAP away from hellstra.
