New 3G iPhone rumor.
Foxconn wins 3G iPhone contract, 3 million units shipping in June? - Engadget
From Engadget:

Need more unsubstantiated evidence that the 3G iPhone is near. Good, the Chinese language Commercial Times is quoting sources claiming that Foxconn (aka, Hon Hai) -- the maker of the 1st gen iPhone -- is ramping up 3G iPhone assembly by "the end of May" to ship 3 million units in June. It's expected to produce some 24-25 million units before the product reaches end of life. If those numbers are true then Apple had better be prepared for a proper global launch without those pesky revenue sharing schemes seen holding back world-wide uptake.

Wouldn't that be great. Fingers crossed. Don't think it will happen though.

I don't think you're stupid, I was just being unpleasant and patronising. I'm pretty good at it. (And I've been watching too much My Name Is Earl. I love Randy, I really do.)
Anyway, can't help getting caught up in all the fuss; I'm as excited about a 3G iPhone as anyone. To be able to download apps and tunes over the air and to finally get an iTunes/AppleTV control app to replace (and to exceed) Salling Clicker: these will be killer apps for me from day 1.

It's a great rumour but unless it's a testing iphone then I thought several sources was pointing to mass production starting in May initially and only kicking off big time in June. I don't see them being able to do a release until the have at least a few hundred thousand manufactured which would be end of May.

No it wouldn't. Plans suck and so does Telstra.

There's an iPhone on the front page of the Jaycar Mothers day catalog, however it's likely a stock image or a manufacturer supplied image rather than a smoking gun

Nothing on Telstra, Optus, Vodafone or Apple sites. I'm going to call this one a mistake.

Wow, with the price of petrol you are to be commended for that
Meanwhile if Andrew T Chadwick could advise what kind of bird whispered in his ear... was it an Apple Bird, a telco bird, or a bird that works in some Telco shop?
If it is here by friday I'd be prepared to go without coffee for a whole day. But only a day.

I for one hope it isnt 'Telstra' who announce something and get the glory and praise. They don't deserve a word of it.
