The question is which do you think will be faster, ordering off the apple store online or going to the apple store when it opens?
I'm quite sure that next week once its announced apple australia will announce all their dates.

Here's hoping that's right, some of us have to negotiate days (or 1/2 days) off and leave passes and everything

I was about to say, reckon we'll see a 32GB model. So I guess they must be doing it. I won't go 32gb, I'll just go 16 I think.

Sounds believable. If true then an Australian 16GB should cost $629 and the 32GB should cost $900-$1000. The 16GB is just what I need and at a price I can afford.
If this is subsidised then the 32GB model could appear free on a $79 vodafone cap, just like the similarly priced 8GB Black N95.
I don't want (well, need) GPS, a $599 no-GPS 32GB model would be nice, and a $399 no-GPS 16GB model.

We can only hope we get a nice price and don't get raped (sorry about the language but it seems the best word to describe it) on the price too much.

Well the 16GB model is saying the same price, and in all territories with an iPhone a 16GB iPhone is the same price as a 32GB iPod touch. A 32GB iPod touch costs $629. Unless the iPod touch changes price I guarantee you it will cost $629 for the 16GB iPhone. Assuming there are no subsidies.
Oh, and this is assuming these rumoured prices are accurate.
PriceUSA (or similar service) would charge about $600, not worth importing if you ask me, $629 is fine.

I'm still speculating the price to be about 700.

Well, obviously.
Actually they are saying "we are watching all the rumours, just like you, and we are totally up to date and can react very quickly so send us your broken toys to fix".
Edit :why are you posting and not watching Top Gear?
Why am I posting and not watc..
