iStat menus 1.3 beta
Hi all.
We're close to releasing another big update for iStat menus. We don't have too many macs in the iSlayer evil lair, so it'd be great if everyone could help test (and if you really, really want to help, then please post photos of your temps and fans menus).
Loads of new things:
Actual running time
This is the computer uptime minus the time it's been asleep, so the actual time it's been actively doing something. Big shout out to iSlayer for figuring this gem out. This is the first time I've seen any app do this (anyone else seen it before?).
Interface Updates
Shadows & rounded graph corners.
Network Extra
Copy IP buttons, PPP controls (both 10.5 only).
Electric sensors in Fans extra
Fans extra is renamed to "Fans & Power". can monitor power, current and voltage sensors on ppc and intel systems
Process monitoring
Added to mem extra plus updates that should fix any problems people were having, better launchcfm names.
And more... - Swapped order of disk activity arrows - read is now on top
- Added font size options for most menubar text modes
- Added shadow options for most menubar text modes
- Added process monitoring to memory extra
- Added PPP controls to network extra (10.5 only)
- Added option to use rounded corners on menubar graph modes
- Leaner date & time dropdown
- Added current read/write values as text to activity monitoring in drives extra/li>
- Improved support for LaunchCFM application names in process monitoring
- Fixed display bug with memory pie graph when "MEM" label was turned off
- Aqua skin in date & time extra now respects the system theme (10.5)
- Bug fixes with using a SMART drive as the primary temperature sensor
- Improved SMART monitoring
- Fixed math bug in used/free mode in memory extra
- Added option to disable SMART temperature monitoring when running on battery power
- Added basic accessibility support to all extras
- Updated Preference Pane interface
- Updated clock format selector
- Replaced old world clock format options with a new format selector
- Added Power/Voltage/Current monitoring support to updated fans extra (now known as Fans & Power)
- Updated process monitoring server
- Added ability to copy ip addresses in the network extra (10.5 only)
- Improved MDD temperature support
- Improved Macbook Air temperature support
Download iStat menus 1.3 beta 8
Edit: If possible, please keep this beta to MacTalk right now. We don't want it Dugg etc just yet

Nice work. Love the ability to change the text font size for some of the menu items. Can we have it globally?

Probably not... it's well hidden
It's under the CPU extra.

Looks very nice.
How do you stop the date/time from becoming all crammed up? Can I insert spaces somehow?

Network speed text seems to be reporting half the real throughput speed.
For example, I am watching the speeds of a transfer using Remote Desktop on my MBP (iStat 1.3 beta) and it is reporting half the speed of the Mac mini host (iStat 1.21).

You can place spaces in the token field. You can also command-drag the menu extras around to put them in any order you like (ie time just to the left of spotlight).

Beta 2 now available (link in first post). This fixes a CPU bug where the text mode always showed 100% CPU.
