iSlayer - there might be a mistake in one of the drop down menus in the Fans and Power Preference - where you choose what primary to display.
'Power Sensors' is there twice. Should the bottom one be 'Current Sensors'?

Also, I would like to see an option to display in the menu the total power being consumed, rather than just CPU or GPU or whatever. Is that possible?

We decided it was best to always show that date rather than just changing the year to 3000

Petronius: Thanks. That does look like it's a bug. Well spotted. Total power would be interesting from a green standpoint.

We probably won't add that because it would be very misleading. The total from the sensors we can read is not even remotely close to the total power being used by your system

Ah, that's a pity. I'd quite like to know the total power being consumed at any one time. Is there any other way of getting it from the system?

I can see that it might be useful to have the consumption of individual components in the drop down menu, but I'm less interested in seeing just one being displayed on the menu bar itself - except perhaps the battery, when you're not on mains.

Apart from that, I like the updates.

There's a new beta uploaded now. It fixed the menubar text colour not changing issue. The new download link is in the first post.

We're not aware of any other bugs, so if you find something then please speak up or it'll be in the release version
Edit: Fan sensor name list bug still not fixed. Will be in the next beta.

The update is great and kind of negates an issue I've been having with the VPN menuextra. 'Negates' it by having the connection ability in the network menu. 'Kind of' since it doesn't work. Here is the console error:

28/04/08 21:35:13 pppd[1234] pppd 2.4.2 (Apple version 314) started by root, uid 0
28/04/08 21:35:13 pppd[1234] PPTP: No remote address supplied...

Obvious issue is that I'm not in the root profile so it isn't taking the VPN (PPTP) info from my current user profile.

Any help?

I think the ppp daemon always runs as root so that shouldnt be an issue. Can you give us more details about the connection. A screenshot of the setup in system preferences might help aswell (to supportteam@islayer.com)

I've sent the requested screenshot and more info as to what happens when using the official VPN menuextra. The difference seems to be the uid:

28/04/08 22:31:30 pppd[1356] pppd 2.4.2 (Apple version 314) started by root, uid 501
28/04/08 22:31:30 pppd[1356] PPTP connecting to server 'vpn.xxx.tld' (12.34.56.78)...
28/04/08 22:31:30 pppd[1356] PPTP connection established.

I think there's a hint in there somewhere. Too bad I have no idea how to program in that area...

we are going to email you a new version in a minute. I've tested here and the new one is using the same user id's as apples vpn extra so hopefully it will be fixed now

Under the World Clock formatting, it is not allowing me to put the single digit hour in. Each time I drag the single digit hour format in it keeps it as 01 instead of just 1. A part from that it's all looking very good.

Network title color and installer

Two bugs I've noticed

1) When I installed the latest beta (4) the installer text asked if I wanted to install beta 1.

2) In beta 4, the colored title text for Network is always blue instead of changing with the skin like the rest of the titles.

Cheers

No network usage

Hi,

Great update! Like the option to change font size for some indicators.

I noticed one bug though. The network usage indicates no throughput even though a web page is loading.

Can I do something to correct this?
