iStat Menus greying out

I've had iStat Menus installed for a few months now and i love the application...
However the software is causing my mac menu bar options to be greyed out, specifically the drop down menus of airport, battery and spaces. (picture below). It doesn't happen all the time but more often than not the menus are are unusable which is an issue.

I know that its an istat issue as when i uninstalled it the menu bar was fine... Its pretty irritating cause i can't do simple things like switching wireless connections, etc.

any ideas? Help would be much appreciated...

Hasn't anyone ever come across this problem on their macs?

strange... We haven't had any support emails with this issue. What other apps do you have installed? Any other issues?

I don't have a laptop to test this on... but, if say, in System Preferences > Energy Saver, if you make the padlock 'locked', does it re-create this behaviour?

It doesn't make any difference on my laptop...

Could it be an interaction between iStat menus, and MenuMeters?

sorry forgot to subscribe to the responses of this thread, hence the long delay.

I don't actually have menu meters installed on my mac, so that can't be it. I tried locking the preferences but that didn't make a difference. Any other ideas?

I guess it is really weird that I'm the only one with this problem... but i guess i'll try out menu meters instead... thanks for pointing that one out...
