iStat Pro widget causes sleeping disks to spin up
Hi.

I'm running OSX 10.5 on a Mac Pro with 3 internal hard disks. The energy saving option "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" is activated (= default in Leopard). With this setting, my 2nd and 3rd disks will usually go to sleep after around 20 minutes, and stay that way until I access them, which is not very often.

That is, unless I open the dashboard. Having iStat Pro active appears to cause a disk access every time the widget is displayed. I have tried to avoid this by unchecking the 2nd and 3rd disks in the Display -> Disks panel, and I have even disabled the whole "hard drives" section - no change.

Does iStat Pro poll the disks even if the section isn't visible?
