Arrow iStat nano 2 public beta

Hi all. We've decided to let MacTalk users be the very first to run iStat nano 2.

Everything has been rebuilt from scratch so we need people to go over it and just check that it's working properly.

If you are running an Intel based Mac, we would appreciate it if you could post a screenshot of the fans section (after you have installed the Intel sensors Module of course) as we have some new code there to get the fan names and we need to build up a list of all the names and cleanup any ugly ones.

For the first time ever, we also have a full manual. There's some pretty cool stuff in there, like all the keyboard shortcuts etc, so please check it out.

The widget's been tested pretty extensively internally, but if something goes awry then we'd love to know.

Download iStat nano version 2

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,
iSlayer & Marc.

Bugs/things to do found by MacTalk users (please redownload if you have the old, unfixed version):
- HD Free space is showing used space... DONE
- View selector buttons work when the view selector isn't there... DONE
- Add a red skin... DONE
- Improved support for local iDisks... DONE
- Improved fan names for intel macs... DONE

Edit: It's been released. Click on the download link to grab it.

Seems to be working fine for me. Seemed to need me to install the intel temps thingy again before I got fan and temp info though (I have it since I run iStat Pro). My fans section is calling the fan "Exhaust" (MacBook C2D 2.0GHz). Gah, I am a moron, image attached now!

Nice work btw guys!

In the "Disks" section, it says the amount used is "free".

You're right! I can't believe we missed that. I guess that's why we're posting the widget here before releasing

A new version with that fixed has been uploaded (so please download it again).

Here's the fans screenshot. I've got a Mac Pro.

Just found another little bug... If I click randomly around in any of the screen modes... it still lets me click buttons from the main screen even though they are invisible.

EDIT: If you look about half way down the image on the left, you can see the highlighted "invisible" button from the main screen. This happens for all the buttons on the main screen.

Mine does that as well, though I thought it was meant to do that, I like it!

[MREVO8]: Thanks again! You're on the ball tonight. We missed that one too. It's definitely not supposed to be there. I'll edit the first post when it's fixed.

Btw, my favourite skins are: Blue, putty and green (in that order). Skins requests taken (they will all be considered, as long as they fit in with everything).

How about a red or yellow (like the fire skin in iStat Pro)?
