We are a charity based in Footscray, Melbourne (more details below) and are looking for pro bono or discounted IT support. We require a general updating and overhaul of our small setup, followed by ongoing, ad hoc tech support. Our system comprises the following:

2 x iMac 5.1 running OSX 10.4.11
1 x MacBook (not booting but operable in target disk mode)
1 x portable hard drive (functioning as a server)
1 x ancient PC (for quickbooks)

In the first instance we need the following done:

- OS X upgrades on the macs
- A new back-up system (time machine seems ideal but am open to suggestion)
- MacBook fixed if possible
- mail and calendars transferred from entourage to macmail and ical
- any other tweaks to simplify and streamline performance

About us:
Western Edge Youth Arts is an arts and education charity based in Footscray that provides services throughout Melbourne’s West and Geelong. We have two main activities. The first is running literacy and arts programs in disadvantaged government schools throughout the west. The second is a community based program that uses the arts to promote social agency, inclusion and justice for young people from financially disadvantaged and culturally diverse (typically refugee) backgrounds. These activities vary in nature, however in 2009, for example, we successfully piloted a new program aiming to ease tensions between Victoria Police and young Africans in Braybrook and Sunshine.
