Menz you cheat. The only way a real person can afford to use the iphone with Telstra is to work there and get the staff plan, or to be related to someone who is and get it through them

Welcome Matthew, and always great to see Xenex back! Great podcast guys, and I have to agree that it was one of the best in a long while.
I reckon it's a good idea to have new people on the panel to hear a different perspective on all things Mac. Maybe each week you should have a "guest" person on the show?

The issue with the nine inch nails app seems to be a geographical issue. If you set you phone to a USA time zone such as las vegas - it works a treat. The issue has a big thread on the nin forum, manly from us australian nin fanboys

NOT TRUE, i am a student and work once a week doing a shift for 6 hrs and i am with telstra, i would love to not be,, but they do have the best network and u need it for the iphone, its not that much more than the optus plans per month, just prioritise spending, i am on the 69 + 10 data (im sure thats it) and i get by....

$49 3G Cap Plan plus $29 300MB Browsing Pack is $80 a month. Considering I was paying Optus $70ish a month ($59 cap, plus phone payment), it's not a huge premium for a network that works almost anywhere.

Great podcast guys

As someone mentioned on the podcast, fans will still buy the CDs. I still buy a CD if the album (I won't buy singles) is good enough. Plus CDs have a few advantages, they are still easier to deal with than downloads I reckon. Not everyone can get an Apple TV or hookup their computer to their living room sound system, etc... so CDs are still useful here. DVD players will play CDs, easy! Also in the car, CDs are great. I sometimes hookup my iPhone to the car radio, but it is a lot of hassle taking the earphones out, plugging the cord in, adjusting the cord because only one channel is working, etc, etc. Easier to just stick in a CD. Of course, you could download the music and then burn it to CD. But sometimes it is nicer to have a real copy rather than a burnt copy.
