Updates are free tfrom the app store for those who already purchased it before. The next update is awaiting Apple approval and it will include: added speed cameras and traffic lights as POIs, voice instructions volume tuned up, resuming the playback of your track after a voice instruction, improved GPS signal information, added low battery status information.
Is there a possibility that Sygic start cheap but charges more heavily on a yearly basis as compared to other product?

New in the update:
- added speed cameras and traffic lights as POIs
- voice instructions turned up
- music playback is not being interrupted by voice instructions
- GPS signal information improved
- added low battery status information

Seems they're listening to people, all it needs now is address book import, then i'm happy and won't bother with buying other GPS apps.

Your post and Coolstorm's regarding red light (traffic light) are not consistent. So, does it warn me not to dash those red lights or not?

BRW, just noticed that now they have the American and European version in addition to Aussie and Asian versions.

upgrade to the latest one, and see what's going on. I had same problem before, but since I've updated, this problem has been fixed automatically. Good luck!

Thanks Coolstorm
Yes, the update fixed my favourites - all good again.

This app is very snappy on 3G S but it had real lag on my 3G

Just bought this software.

Like the sound volume, like the map, like the route calculation so far, like the completeness(not sure yet about accuracy) of road speed limit. Good that it had speed camera database.

However does it have red light camera database? I see that it has traffic light but that's not the same as red light camera. Can it warn me where the red light cameras are?

Hope the developer can incorporate red light camera warning in the next version.

I contacted the Australian distributors for DLO and they have obsoleted the vent mount. Said they had trouble fitting all popular cars so they got rid of it.
So if you want one and can find one, buy it straight away, or look for an alternative.

I really dislike the sensis online maps, they lack detail and are not very intuitive to me, so I always use Google maps. So I can't imagine their GPS maps would be any better. A colleague who had a TomTom in car GPS swore by it, said it never led her astray. Yet I'd really like to buy Australian.

Sygic currently lets me specify tolerance for overspeeding by a fixed Km/h over. It would be much better if it let us specify a percentage instead of a fixed number. 10km/h over while travelling 110 km/h is okay, but not okay when in a 50km/h zone.

Hope someone from Sygic take note of this for future enhancement.

Do you have any specific area in Australia that shows this to be the case?

TomTom is the gold standard IMO for car navigation and I love it very much. However, the version that I was using does not have road speed limit in most of the roads, which makes it quite half baked as an overspeeding warning tool. I like it's route calculation algorithm though, including recalculation. In contrast, Sygic's calculation is a little strange at times. If I deliberately take a short cut which differ from the recommended route, it keeps asking me to go back to the original one, and keep doing so for too long. TomTom is able to sense that I might want an alternative route and recalculates more quickly.

I should have waited for TT, but I'm just too impatient to wait

Red light cameras are in the same database as speed cameras. I drove into the city today from Hornsby and it warned me for both fixed speed camera's and red light cameras. The symbol is the same for both.

I used it this morning. It warns me on every traffic light which is crying wolf. I only want to warned if the traffic light has the red light camera.

Go to 'manage POI', and then 'warn when near POI', select 'speed camera' instead of 'traffice light'. The red camera is included in 'speed camera'.

The red camera are included in the speed camera? Really? Good news if that is the case. I would just simply untick traffic light and try it out. Will see how it goes. Thanks for the info.
